All we need is Love.

Today I saw an advertising campaign that is raising a bit of a row. Echoing the Beatles, it asserts that “All you need is Love.” People are upset because it’s showcasing men kissing one another on the mouth. Funny how the message is being lost in the message.

Because it’s true.

We all know it, whether we remember or not. We all have a little child inside us that knows that all we need is love.

But what is love? What is this force that we crave? What does it look like?

I found this old forward today. It was a study conducted of 4 to 8 year-olds who were asked, “What does love mean?” Here are some of their responses:

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it every day."

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."

“When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."

When there is nothing left but God, that is when we find out that God is all we need. Because God is LOVE. And love is all we need.
